Amy Schumer to Star in Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein’s “I Feel Pretty”

Amy Schumer in “Trainwreck”: Universal Pictures

It’s less than a month until “Snatched” hits theaters, and now comes word that Amy Schumer has booked another gig. She’ll topline and produce “I Feel Pretty,” a comedy from McG’s Wonderland Sound & Vision and Voltage Pictures, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.

The project marks the directorial debut of “How to Be Single” and “He’s Just Not That Into You” screenwriters Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein. The pair also penned the script, but no details have been released about “I Feel Pretty’s” plot.

“Voltage snagged the project in a closely guarded yet competitive situation and then quickly attached Schumer,” THR reports. The comedy is expected to shoot on the East Coast this summer.

Schumer’s first big screen outing, “Trainwreck,” was made for $35 million and went on to gross over $140 million worldwide. “This is the birth of a new film star,” declared Phil Contrino, vice president and chief analyst at BoxOffice.com, after the comedy’s huge opening weekend at the box office. “[Schumer’s] going to get tons of offers. This puts her in the same realm as Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig.”

“Snatched” sees the Emmy winner teaming up with Goldie Hawn. The pair play a daughter and mother who go on vacation to Ecuador, where they’re kidnapped. The comedy bows May 12.

Schumer recently signed on to costar with Nicole Kidman and Steve Carell in Rebecca Miller’s upcoming comedic drama “She Came to Me,” which tells two intertwining love stories.

A fifth season has been confirmed for Comedy Central’s “Inside Amy Schumer” but no word on when to expect it yet. Schumer co-created the Peabody Award-winning sketch series.
