Andrea Savage Comedy Series Picked Up

Andrea Savage in “Episodes”

“Episodes’” actress Andrea Savage has scored her own TV series. Cable network truTV has given a series order to “I’m Sorry,” a half-hour comedy Savage created and stars in.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “I’m Sorry” centers on a “seemingly confident and together comedy writer, wife, and mom Andrea (Savage), who comically exposes her inner immaturity and neuroses through unexpected life situations.”

Savage will serve as one of the series’ executive producers along with Jessica Elbaum (“Eastbound & Down), Will Ferrell, and others.

“Andrea draws storytelling inspiration from her own life and has a unique ability to make horrifying moments somehow charming and hilarious,” truTV head of programming Marissa Ronca said in a statement. “We love this project and her point of view because it’s smart, nuanced, relatable, and, most importantly, funny — and the perfect fit for the type of distinct, creator-driven comedy we’re curating at truTV.”

Savage, whose other credits include “The Hotwives” and “Veep,” added, “I am thrilled to apologize in advance to my family, my friends, and to myself for the shame I will be bringing upon us all.”

The first season of “I’m Sorry” is set to debut in 2017, and will feature 10 episodes. The first episode will include guest appearances by Judy Greer (“Arrested Development”) and June Squibb (“Nebraska”).
