“High Maintenance” Gets HBO Premiere Date and Kathy Bates’ Pot Series Heads to Netflix

HBO has confirmed a debut date for “High Maintenance.” The comedy series will sick-off its six-episode inaugural season on September 16 at 11 p.m.

The series, based on the web series of the same name, was created by husband and wife team Ben Sinclair and Katja Blichfeld and follows a Brooklyn pot dealer who delivers to clients “with neuroses as diverse as the city.” Blichfeld co-executive produces, and Sinclair stars as “The Guy,” the nameless dealer.

But “High Maintenance” isn’t the only pot-centric series coming to television. Netflix has ordered 20 episodes of a comedy named “Disjointed,” starring Kathy Bates, Deadline reports. She’ll play “a lifelong advocate for legalization who’s finally living her dream as the owner of an L.A.-area cannabis dispensary.”

The series is being written and executive produced by Chuck Lorre (“Two and Half Men”) and “The Daily Show” writer David Javerbaum. Bates is a two-time Emmy winner: she took home statuettes for her appearances in “Two and a Half Men” and “American Horror Story: Coven.”
