Margot Robbie and Emily Blunt to Host “Saturday Night Live”

Margot Robbie is set to host the 42nd season premiere of “SNL” this coming weekend.

Robbie had a huge summer, starring in “The Legend of Tarzan” and the big money-maker “Suicide Squad.” The latter film was panned by critics but has made over $700 million worldwide, and many reviews singled out Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn as one of the film’s few highlights. Robbie recently signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros., for which she already has two projects set: a “Suicide Squad” spinoff for Harley Quinn and other female-villains of the DC Comics universe, and “Queen of the Air,” in which she’ll play a trapeze artist.

Shortly after Robbie takes the stage at Sudio 8H, Emily Blunt will take on “SNL” hosting duties. As TV Line reports, Blunt will make her hosting debut next month, possibly on October 15. Her hosting duties will come a week after her upcoming thriller, “The Girl on the Train,” hits theaters on October 7.

The two actresses will mark two female hosts for “SNL” in the first few weeks of the new season. As Women and Hollywood previously reported, the sketch comedy series has just hired its first Latina actress. Melissa Villaseñor was added as a featured player earlier this month, and she has a full bag of hilarious impressions.

The new season kicks off on October 1. Check out Robbie’s preview for the new season below, in which she partners up with Emmy winner and lady Ghostbuster Kate McKinnon for some girl talk.
