Selma Blair Nabs Rights to Sarah Beth Durst’s “The Lost”

Blair in “Columbus Circle”

Selma Blair wants us to get lost. The “Kath & Kim” alumna and her production company, Sainted Productions, have snagged the rights to Sarah Beth Durst’s 2013 novel “The Lost,” Variety reports.

The book follows Lauren, a woman who finds herself trapped in a desolate town on the edge of a desert that’s “filled with things abandoned, broken, and thrown away,” according to its Amazon synopsis. When Lauren “tries to escape, impassible dust storms and something unexplainable lead her back to Lost again and again. The residents she meets there tell her she’s going to have to figure out just what she’s missing — and what she’s running from — before she can leave. So now Lauren’s on a new search for a purpose and a destiny. And maybe, just maybe, she’ll be found.”

Now seeking a writer to pen the script, Blair is “undecided” about whether or not she’ll topline the project, which may take the form of a film or a TV series.

Blair co-stars in TV Land’s upcoming “Heathers” reboot, which is expected to debut early next year. Her credits include “The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” the “Hellboy” franchise, and “Legally Blonde.”
