Trailer Watch: A Possessed Doll Finds New Friends to Torment in “Annabelle: Creation”

“Annebelle: Creation”

“Sister, you always say that even though we can’t see God we can feel His presence,” a young girl (Talitha Bateman, “The 5th Wave”) tells a nun (Stephanie Sigman, “Narcos”) in a new trailer for “Annabelle: Creation.” Girls from a recently shuttered orphanage have moved into the house of a dollmaker and his wife, and things aren’t quite right in their new home. She explains, “In this house I feel a different kind of presence — an evil one. It’s coming after me.”

The horror film is a sequel to 2014’s “Annabelle,” a prequel to “The Conjuring.”

“Annabelle: Creation” reunites viewers with the titular possessed doll. This time around, Annabelle is preying on the orphans who have moved into her home.

The trailer shows Annabelle causing all kinds of creepy carnage, including levitation. At one point the doll gets thrown down a well — but it’s not long before she’s getting payback on the girl who dared to attack her.

“Annabelle” grossed over $256 million on a budget of $6.5 million.“Annabelle: Creation” hits theaters August 11.
