Women and Hollywood is Hiring a Social Media Intern

The Women and Hollywood team is looking for a new Social Media intern. The internship will begin October 1, 2016.

The intern will be responsible for helping to grow and nurture the Women and Hollywood online community. They will mainly be responsible for:

  • Managing the Facebook and Twitter accounts
  • Daily scheduling of blog posts through Hootsuite
  • Creating and implementing social media campaigns (both long-term and short-term) to increase engagement
  • Monitoring analytics and creating monthly and special occasion data reports/infographics
  • Keeping the resource page on the website up-to-date
  • And other duties as they arise (e.g. occasional interview editing for the Women and Hollywood blog)

The role is 15 hours per week for six months. This is a paid internship ($1,000 USD for six months). The intern will receive two payments: the first payment will be made at the three month mark, and the second payment at the end of the six month internship.

This position is remote. It is desirable that the candidate be in the EST time zone (or available during EST work hours) and able to access/be active on the social media platforms at some point between 10 and 3 (approx) on weekdays.

The ideal candidate will have a background in community engagement/social media and an interest in connecting with the women in film/TV community.

The Women and Hollywood community is vibrant and outgoing and we would want the same of our social media intern — someone who is comfortable replying to comments, knows what’s going on in the industry, can dream up new ways to educate through social media, and can even use a GIF or two!

The ideal candidate also needs to be adept with the following programs/platforms: Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, Medium, Hootsuite, Tweepi, Twitter/Facebook Analytics, design/editing software (e.g InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

The deadline to apply is September 9. Please send a resume and cover letter to Melissa Silverstein at melissa@womenandhollywood.com.
